Lazy Summer

8.19.2014

If you have ever had the privilege of meeting Jed, you've probably seen this face too many times.

I'm pretty sure this has been the laziest summer we've ever had. Usually we do a lot of traveling and camping but it seems we haven't gotten as much adventure in this year as I would have hoped. I do look forward to going to Portland next month, this will be my first time going. I'm so excited!! I'm also hoping to take the girls to Canada for their first time this fall. *fingers crossed.* Lately it seems like we have been getting out of the house late and so there isn't always a lot of day light left. Thankfully now that school has started for the kiddos we are getting our butts out of bed sooner! LOL! Is anyone as excited for fall as I am?! I have to admit that I really wish summer would stick around for a while longer even though fall truly is my favorite season.

Rocky Mountain National Park

8.09.2014

It was so bright out side with all the snow, Jed could barely see!

I love the mountains. I never tire of them. One of my favorite places to visit is the Rocky Mountain National Park (when I don't have time to leave the state). No matter the season you visit, it is always an enchanting one. These photos are actually from early June but I'm just now getting around to editing them. This particular visit was amazing! The snow was still on the ground in places and the sky was especially blue. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend getaway. Our girls didn't come with us this time. This was a much needed break. Now it's August and I'm already longing for another quick trip. But I suppose everyone needs to unwind from time to time. Is there any place you like to getaway to? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

What I Wore: My favorite color of course + family fun

8.07.2014

Somebody doesn't like waiting her turn.
This guy cracks me up!

We haven't enjoyed the outdoors as much as I'd like this summer. It seems that Colorado is making up for all the lack of rain we've missed the past few years. Today, we made sure to take advantage of the rain free day and go for a quick trip to the park. I wish we could have stayed longer but the rain has also brought a TON of hungry mosquitoes! I love this park (America the Beautiful). The playground is unique and easy to watch my kiddos from a distance. It's also a beautiful place to go for a walk or bike ride too.

How has your summer been? Are you ready for fall? I know for once I actually am NOT!

Thrift Finds : Pyrex Steals!

My growing collection ♥

I am fairly new to collecting Pyrex and mid century goodies altogether. I'm wild about the color green and this era is chalked full of beautiful shades of olive, avocado, and lime (It's what first drew me to this style). My collection started out slowly. I was still learning names and what I liked. It's also not easy finding pieces locally, at least not for cheap. I try to be a thrifty gal, TRY to at least hehe. Unfortunately most of the pieces I've gotten came from Ebay. I am excited to share that I just may have found my pot of gold as far as antique shops go. A huge warehouse full of mid century treasures! I can't wait to continue my hunt for more goodies. But enough of my ramblings, look at the two newest pieces I've added to my lovely collection.

$20 for the set of Butterfly Gold Cinderella Bowls (Yea!)
$5 for the Spring Blossom Green Butter Dish (it's so purty ♥)

Take Care & Enjoy,
♥ Heather
